BA English Literature and Language
BS Educational Studies
Clinical Mental Health & School Counseling Intern (MS Candidate, December 2024)
Mental Health Professional

After completing 5 years as a Montessori educator, I discovered my passion was in working on social-emotional learning and processing with children and adolescents. Which took me back to higher education. I am currently working to complete my School Counseling and Clinical Counseling Master’s Program at Mt. Mary University in Milwaukee.

I have been working for the last two years as a licensed School Counselor in the Madison Area. As a provider, my interests lie in supporting clients on their mental health journey with developmentally appropriate interventions and unconditional respect. While I pull from many styles of therapy, I tend to lean toward narrative and play therapies; often also incorporating elements of DBT. Everyone has a story with a past, present, and future. I take a holistic approach to working with clients which looks at their whole story, because no matter what you have been through, are going through, or anticipate going through your story matters!

I am most passionate about working with children and adolescents (particularly those of color) who have experienced trauma, have mood, and/or impulse disorders. Symptoms of these mental health conditions are often misunderstood as noncompliance or other behaviors, making it difficult for this population to be successful in school, work, or at home. I focus on building skills that will help children and adolescents be successful, while unpacking and processing their experiences and struggles. In addition to working with children/adolescents I am comfortable and enjoy working with families who are also working on these issues.
