Amy Hoyte, BS Psychology
Mental Health Professional
Currently pursuing master’s degree in Outdoor Educational Leadership
It is my desire for all with whom I work to know they are seen, known, and absolutely valued. I am passionate about making a way for all individuals to enjoy and experience the calming and therapeutic effects of nature and movement. An avid explorer and outdoor adventurer, I enjoy the beauty of all seasons! I believe in living life so we can both receive and offer the energy and love that comes from time spent in nature. I am fueled by a passion for the journey of self-discovery, accepting rest and refreshment, and doing the things that make us come alive.
I am committed to creating a setting where all people (regardless of disability, age, ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, and/or sexual orientation) can access and fully participate in practicing wellness skills. Individually tailored trauma-informed sessions will support you in learning ways to monitor and manage both your physical and mental health. We will work toward creating a connection to self (or others) using methods such as hiking, yoga, breathwork, and/or meditation to manage symptoms and struggles.
Building on a relationship of trust and comfort, I will mitigate identified barriers to mental wellness, physical activity, time in nature, stillness, and meditation by including simplified language, ensuring you are seen and heard via familiar topics relating to your interests, and maintaining engagement during each session. The spaces we practice within will be safe and achievable, based on physical and behavioral ability, to ensure success and create progress toward your individual health and wellness goals. I am an experienced facilitator of individual adaptive outdoor adventure-based wellness practices and a certified yoga instructor. I look forward to helping you experience outdoor, adventure, yoga, breathwork and/or meditation in an accessible way.
