I believe that clarity of one’s own values and understanding of a person’s own desires is necessary for anyone to live well. My goal is to support and guide clients as they create their best life. I want to understand what YOU do and don’t want to change about your life and your circumstances. We will work collaboratively to recognize the function and origin of your behaviors or thought patterns, and to create goals or plans for “improvement” as YOU define it.
My style of therapy is based on the unconditional positive regard, championed by Carl Rogers, combined with the rational thought-awareness of CBT and influences from a broad array of Eastern and Western philosophers, from Spinoza to Lao Tzu. I strive to maintain awareness of how social systems and cultural values impact individual circumstances and choices.
Diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, my personal struggles navigating an undiagnosed childhood also influence my clinical approach. This drives my alignment with those who may feel rejected by society or those around them, lost in their own life, or unable to know themselves. I would love to help you find yourself in this.
